Investment
Once you have been approved, a non-refundable $500 deposit will reserve a Grand River Labrador puppy and go toward the total purchase price of $3,800. Deposits are refundable or transferable to another litter if we are unable to provide a puppy of your desired gender. The final balance is due by the time the puppy is six weeks of age.
Joining the Family
After you are on the approved litter list and the puppies are born, regular updates and pictures will be sent on a text group created specifically for your litter. This is a great way to ask questions, share information and stay connected. For many families this is the beginning of lasting friendships!
Choosing Your Puppy
Our placement process is intentionally and thoughtfully designed to make your puppy dream a reality.
At seven weeks old we begin conversations for puppy selection in order of the deposit received. The puppies will have seen the vet for their six-week check up and their little personalities will be emerging. Choosing your puppy in person is always an excellent option, however if that is not possible, we will provide detailed online help through pictures, videos and FaceTime.
Because we have the privilege of interacting with the puppies every day from birth, it’s no surprise that we learn their personalities and little character nuances. Part of the joy we share is the process of assisting families with the selection of their puppies. While we believe that humans and dogs can have an innate sense of connection, we also understand that individual personalities are sometimes better suited to one family over another. It’s our responsibility to share information and careful observation of each puppy, so that each family is equipped to make the best selection possible. While we don’t endorse “it licked me therefore it’s meant to be”, every single collaboration of a Grand River puppy has been positive and “meant to be”.
Grand River Labradors reserves the right to first pick of the litter.
Bringing Your New Puppy Home
Grand River Labrador puppies are ready to go home at eight weeks old and come with a Two-Year Health Guarantee, a full physical from our Reproductive Specialist, appropriate vaccinations and worming, if necessary, microchip, limited AKC registration and 30 days of free AKC Pet Insurance. Parents’ health clearances and pedigrees are also included.
After final payments have been made, each owner will be contacted to schedule pick up. While picking up the puppy at our home is ideal, we understand that it is not always possible. We are happy to assist with travel arrangements for out of state families. Interested in our personal courier service?
